Painful. Irritable. Awkward.

Those are some of the adjectives that described Sergio Garcia’s relationship with Augusta National Golf Club.

Yet, on what would have been the late Seve Ballesteros’ 60th birthday, Garcia and Augusta National came to terms with each other. In his 19th Masters appearance, the 37-year-old Spaniard earned a green jacket and lifetime invitation to return.

“And, Justin Rose, if you had one word to describe your emotions right now, what would it be?”

Really, Dottie Pepper? This right after Rose lost the Masters to Sergio Garcia on the first playoff hole?

You’re lucky he’s a gentleman.

Hangin’ with Duval at the Masters
David Duval is a pleasant surprise (“ ‘Live From The Masters’ clicks at Augusta,” April 9, bit.ly/2nRmvqO). After his demise and departure from playing golf, many thought he would end up in a Florida mental institution. He is so insightful and well spoken. I hang on his every word (as I do Chamblee). What a treat listening to them both.
