Questions born of watching way too much golf:

David Duval said on television that we should not expect a threesome of the best players in the world to complete a round of golf in less than five hours at the U.S. Open? Does that bother you?

If you could buy stock in Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth or Rickie Fowler, whom would you choose?

If you bought your latest driver solely because of what you read in a golf magazine or online, then there are about as many brains in its head as there are in yours.

Would you buy a new car without a test drive? Would you purchase it simply after reading the manufacturer’s brochure?

Some so-called “equipment reviews” are little more than cut-and-paste jobs from the manufacturers’ promotional materials.

With all the positive, neutral and negative comments about the U.S. Open TV coverage, everyone's somehow forgotten to mention the best voice that was in the tower: Brad Faxon.

Here's an extremely accomplished PGA Tour winner, with arguably more knowledge of the game than any of the other broadcasters. His well-rounded commentary was not only descriptive and explanatory, it was punctuated by anecdotes and witticisms that he has cultivated over his seasoned career. He also exhibits a propensity to convey his thoughts in a polished and peaceful way that's easy on the ears, a trait not shared by his co-broadcasters.

Medinah (Ill.) Country Club reintroduced its No. 2 Course after a yearlong restoration. The Chicago-area course, a 1925 Tom Bendelow design, was updated by architect Rees Jones to focus on the original shapes of the green complexes and bunkers, as determined by 1938 aerial photographs.
