With that victory in Connecticut, Spieth became the second-youngest player to win 10 PGA Tour events, putting him smack in the middle between Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, the two best players ever.

Qualified: For the British Open, England’s Ian Poulter, who earned one of three spots Tuesday at Final Qualifying at his home course, Woburn (England) Golf Club. India’s Shiv Kapur took the medal at 71-65–136, 8 under par, for the 36-hole day. England’s Toby Tree tied Poulter for runner-up at 6 under. Sweden’s Jens Dantorp, who was penalized two strokes for carrying 15 clubs on the first hole, missed by one stroke.
